True Nutrition started in 2003 because two people who actually used protein powder got tired of not knowing what was in it. The idea was simple: build a supplement company where the label and the contents are always the same thing.
Twenty years later, that's still the job. What's changed is how far we go to prove it, and who we've brought in to help.
The Standard
Every product we sell has to clear three separate checkpoints before it reaches your cart. Miss any one of them, and it doesn't ship.
1. Rigorous sourcing. We don't work with suppliers who can't produce a Certificate of Analysis for their material. No COA, no relationship. This is the floor, not the finish line — a supplier's paperwork is where the process starts, not where it ends.
2. Third-party testing, on everything. A supplier's word isn't verification. So every material we sell is independently tested by a third-party lab before it's trusted. We recently partnered with LightLabs, an ISO 17025-accredited lab built specifically to make testing data usable, not just filed away. Results are posted directly on the product page, right under the image carousel (just under the Add to Cart button on mobile), and behind the More Info link on every tile in the protein customizer. Real data, not a claim on a label.
3. In-house verification. Beyond outside testing, we run our own on-site lab, checking potency, purity, and identity ourselves before anything is approved for sale. It's a second set of eyes that never leaves the building.
Why It Matters
Most of the industry stops at step one, if it gets that far. Testing data, when it exists, usually lives in a file somewhere, shared only if someone asks. We think that's backwards. If we're asking you to trust what's in the product, you should be able to see why.
Our founder has put it plainly: over the years, we've sent back entire truckloads of product that didn't meet our standard. Not damaged shipments. Not recalls. Material that looked fine on paper and didn't hold up under testing. Whole batches, refused before they ever reached a customer.
That's the cost of the standard. We think it's worth it.
