What sports/activities do you participate in?

Powerlifting, volleyball, badminton, walking/hiking, creative writing, craft beer tasting, research on workplace wellness

What are your top priorities at this moment in your life?

Conduct high quality research at Clemson University with Greenville Health System; Improve physical fitness and health-related habits to better manage lumbar spine degenerative disc disease; Gain deeper self-awareness and self-mastery to improve relationships, build resilience, and appreciate life everyday

What does your nutrition and diet routine look like? How do your goals influence your nutrition and diet?

I am currently using the Renaissance Periodization diet templates to reduce body fat and maintain/build muscle mass. I focus on macronutrient intake and properly fueling my workouts. Because I have degenerative disc disease, the lifting movements I’m able to do are somewhat limited, so I have to be very mindful of not going over my calorie requirements. It’s a struggle! My goals are to improve physical and mental/emotional fitness and resilience, so my diet is meant to facilitate those goals. I’m not perfect, but this is a road to better habits. So, I enjoy the occasional meals that don’t fit into the RP templates. From a statistical standpoint, my goal is to have an average of healthy nutrition/dietary choices with little variance from that average. “Cheat meals” balance out as long as I’m consistent over the long run.

What is your favorite thing about

Customization and Quality. It’s unmatched in any other product I’ve used. TrueNutrition is a brand I can trust; I always know that even if I’m taking a risk and trying a product or flavor I’ve never had before, that I will be getting the best product on the market. When I walk into health stores like Vitamin Shoppe or GNC, I never know if the stuff on those shelves is honest or reliable. So, I pretty much exclusively use for any protein supplements. Also, the customization features are SO MUCH FUN.

What TrueNutrition products do you use to maintain your nutrition and dietary goals?

rBGH/Soy-free whey protein isolate, Micellar casein, and a custom blend of 60% rBGH/Soy-free whey protein isolate and 40% micellar casein. One day I want to try the customized oatmeal blends, too!

What is your favorite hobby/past time?

How do I pick just one? Playing with/training my furbaby, a carolina dog named Finn; watching Science Fiction tv shows; creating healthy recipes; powerlifting

What is a fun, weird, and/or interesting fact about yourself?

My senior year of high school, my sister and I won the Miami-Dade County doubles badminton championship. We called ourselves state champs because there were no other championships like that in FL at the time! Also, I’m 27 years old and have my Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, so I think that’s fun, weird, and interesting all at once!
